The next outdoor movie at Fordham Plaza will be "Despicable Me" on June 28th at 8:30PM, followed by  "Megamind" July 27th. The last movie on September 6th will be chosen through a social media vote on the BID's Facebook page. So bring a chair or a blanket and your friends and come out to Fordham Plaza for some family fun!

This movie series is made possible by the BID Challenge Grant through the New York City Department of Small Business Services.

Despicable Me: Friday, June 28th at 8:30pm

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout belonging to Gru, who delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
Megamind:Saturday, July 27th at 8:30pm

After super-villain Megamind kills his good-guy nemesis, Metro Man, he becomes bored since there is no one left to fight. He creates a new foe, Titan, who, instead of using his powers for good, sets out to destroy the world, positioning Megamind to save the day for the first time in his life.

FORDHAM ROAD BID WINS 2012 BID CHALLENGE AWARD!

The Fordham Road BID was one of the recipients of the first ever BID Challenge Awards, given out November 27th, 2012 at the Roosevelt House in Manhattan. The Fordham Road BID was one of seven recipients of this year’s BID Challenge Awards, a competitive grant from the New York Department of Small Business Services that provides funding for the most innovative neighborhood improvement proposals in Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) across New York City. The BID Challenge was designed to encourage the City’s 67 BIDs to strengthen their neighborhoods, attract jobs and bring investment through creative and innovative initiatives.

The Fordham Road BID received $26,000 to put on “Movies at the Plaza,” a series of outdoor movie nights at Fordham Plaza throughout the summer of 2013. A marketing campaign to promote the event will include banners along Fordham Road, extensive beautification in the area and a sanitation crew to keep the plaza clean before, during and after the events.
